We focus on plays and pieces written for young adults and older, yet what about the younger generations? This article reviews how children's books lack the diversity we were able to explore in all the works we analyzed throughout the semester. I think back to all the books I read as a child and I beg to differ. I specifically remember reading plenty of Native American literature, African American literature, etc. as a younger kid. The literature is out there, but it's up to the school systems across the U.S. for providing it to students. The particular author mentioned in this article, Junot Diaz, hopes his children's books that focus on immigration will help increase the overall diversity of books provided for children to read across the U.S.
